Head of Group
S. Mohammad Razavizadeh (Senior Member, IEEE) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), where he also serves as the Vice Dean for Research. He received his B.Sc. (1997), M.Sc. (1999), and Ph.D. (2006) degrees in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications. From 2006 to 2010, he served as a Research Assistant Professor and the Head of the Radio Communication Group at the Iran Telecommunication Research Center (ITRC). He joined IUST as a faculty member in 2010, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017, and served as the Head of the Communications Department from 2016 to 2020. Additionally, he served as the Director of ITRC from 2022 to 2024.
Dr. Razavizadeh leads the Mobile Broadband Networks Research Group (MBNRG), where he directs research on physical layer (PHY) and radio access network (RAN) techniques for 5G-Advanced and 6G wireless communication systems. His research broadly centers on wireless systems and signal processing, with specific focus on advanced multi-antenna systems (MIMO, Massive MIMO, and Cell-Free architectures), beamforming and precoding, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), integrated sensing and communications (ISAC), non-terrestrial networks (NTN), physical layer security (PLS), and machine learning applications in wireless networks.
He has supervised more than 50 graduate students and co-authored over 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. Dr. Razavizadeh maintains active research collaborations with prestigious institutions worldwide, including Chalmers University of Technology, Linköping University, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden); Korea University (South Korea); the University of Waterloo, Carleton University, and the University of Saskatchewan (Canada); Great Bay University (GBU) and the University of Macau (China); and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB, Spain). Furthermore, he actively contributes to the IEEE community as an executive/board member of the IEEE Iran Section, serves on technical program committees (TPC), delivers keynote and invited talks at international conferences, and frequently reviews for high-impact journals, particularly across various IEEE publications.

S. Fatemeh Bozorgi is a PhD student with MBNRG group since 2021. She received her M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from Shahed University. She is working on resource allocation in V2X 6G networks, UAV-based vehicular networks, and intelligent resource management.
Hamidreza Hojjati is a PhD student with MBNRG group since 2022. He received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from IUST. He is working on 6G mobile communications, AI/ML for wireless networks, deep reinforcement learning, resource allocation, cooperative communication, and integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems.
Ali Rezapour is a PhD student with MBNRG group since 2023. He received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from Shahid Beheshti University (SBU). He is working on massive MIMO, beamforming techniques, millimeter-wave (mmWave), and Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) networks in 6G wireless systems.
Maryam Asadi is a PhD student with MBNRG group since 2024. She received her MSc degree from K. N. Toosi University of Technology and B.Sc. degree from Qom University. She is working on beamforming design for integrated sensing (ISAC), communication, and power transfer (ISCAP) systems, energy efficient communications, and channel knowledge map (CKM).
Ali Babaei is a PhD student with MBNRG group since 2025. He received his M.Sc. degree from Sharif University of Technology and B.Sc. degree from Shahid Beheshti University. He is working on 6G wireless networks, cell-free massive MIMO networks, energy efficient networks, and Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS).
